A celebration of popular Japanese and Western characters in costume! With many attendees coming to the Midlands MCM Expo dressed as there favourite characters the event is set to be full of colour and life.
Why not come in costume yourself? Take part and join in the fun! You're bound to have a great day, meet and make new friends with many of our regular cosplaying attendees.
Run by the same friendly crew who bring you Cosplay@London MCM Expo the cosplay point returns, where weapons can be checked, questions asked, and helpful advice found!
MASQUERADE:
This is your chance to really show off! Whether you like dressing up in costume or just want to watch, with walk on entrants and short performances the masquerade offers entertainment for all.
The masquerade is a costume competition that will take place on the main stage and there are some great prizes to be won for the most talented entrants!
Due to the popularity of the masquerade places fill up fast, we would ask any cosplayers who would like to take part in the Masquerade to pre register online ASAP! This also applies to anyone wishing to present a skit or performance. Please do also read through the rules and guidelines (link to download these can found to the top of the page).
ON THE DAY MASQUERADE REGISTRATION:
We will be opening registrations until 12 noon for a limited number of places to take part in the Masquerade on the day. We will have a finite number of places available, these will be dealt with on a first come, first serve basis, so please register when you arrive for a chance to take part!
ADVANCE MASQUERADE REGISTRATION:
To register in advance, please fill out the 'Masquerade Entry Form (link to download the form can found at the top of the page) and send it by email to cosplay@mcmexpo.net
Masquerade entry opens at midnight on the 28th August 2007 and closes midnight on the 12th September 2007. Note that we cannot accept entries outside of these dates.
Performances and skits must provide the audio track in advance. Note that 1: we can only play a single track 2: microphones are unavailable, so please pre record any spoken word performances.
FACILITIES FOR COSPLAYERS:
MCM Expo offer dedicated changing areas available to Cosplayers both Male & Female, a storage area will also be available where you can leave luggage up to the size of a small suitcase or weekend case, once luggage is left it must remain secure throughout the event, we can not allow continual retrieval of items throughout the day of the event so please keep anything that you wish to use on a regular basis with you.
Items are left at MCM Expos discretion and can be refused, we will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to items, when you hand in the item that you want to store it will be placed in a black bag and secured until you return. Once taken out of the storage area the luggage can not be returned the same day.
